Release Notes:

This is a demo of the NetDAQ Logger package. It will time out after
60 minutes of use.

The NetDAQ Logger package provides a means for remote configuration of
NetDAQ instruments, data collection, and trend plot display. Both a
16-bit version for Windows 3.1 and a 32-bit version for Windows 95 and

system you are running. You may force an installation of the 16-bit
version of NetDAQ Logger on Windows 95 or Windows NT by using the /16
flag on the setup command line ("setup.exe /16").

Please refer to the NetDAQ User Manual for detailed installation
instructions.

   please contact Trumpet International at:

   Logger.

Revision Information:

Version 1.1:

  * A bug was fixed where Mx+B and alarm values for a frequency channel were
incorrectly read in from a setup file.

  * A few cosmetic changes were made that are unlikely to affect users.

  * The installation program was improved to work better with alternative
    program managers.

  * Support was added to the Trumpet installation for the new Intel
EtherExpress Pro and 3-COM 3C509 Ethernet cards.

Version 2.0:

NOTE - Some of these additions are only supported by Version 2.0 of the
NetDAQ instrument software. Contact your local Fluke service center if
you need to upgrade the software in your NetDAQ instrument.

  * Added Developer's ToolBox Support.

  * Added Math Equations to Computed Channels.

  * Added French, German, and Spanish user interface translations.

  * Added Trend Link Data Reduction (Deadbanding).

  * Added Data File Rollover control.

  * Added user-entered Alpha parameter for RTD sensors.

  * Added facility for setting the Scale Factor (M) and Offset (B) for a
    channel from a file.

  * Added control to allow clearing the totalizer when scanning is started.

  * Changed the format of the setup file to Binary to allow complete setup
of 20 instruments to be saved.

  * Changed default reading rate to slow.

Version 3.0:

  * Added a 32-bit version with long file name support and 3-D appearance.

  * Added Trend Link batching support with various options for defining a batch.

  * Added a Current Readings table to provide a numeric display of readings
    as they are collected.

  * Combined isolated and general network versions into one package.

  * Unbundled the Trend Link trending package and the Newt networking
software. These may be purchased separately.

  * Added a toolbar and status bar.

  * Added a recent file list in the Setup menu.

  * Modified the channel configuration display to include only configured
    channels for easier viewing.

  * Created new installation and uninstallation programs.

Version 3.01:

  * A bug was fixed in the 16-bit version where timestamps in Trend Link appeared
shifted in time by the difference between the current timezone and the
    Pacific Standard Time timezone.

  * A bug was fixed in the 32-bit version where in some regions, during Daylight
Savings Time, the timestamps in Trend Link appeared an hour off.

  * A bug was fixed where an hour of data logged to the Trend Link format was
lost over the transition into Daylight Savings Time.

Version 3.02:

  * Some time related problems were fixed that occurred when a TZ environment
variable was set in Windows 95 or Windows NT.

  * The Current Readings table was fixed so that if any readings have been
retrieved since the start of logging, the last readings appear immediately
when the Readings window is opened. Previously, the display appeared blank
until the next readings were retrieved or the instrument icon was clicked on.

  * For the Isolated with Trumpet installation on Windows 3.1, the lines added
to the autoexec.bat now contain drive letters, so that the installation will
work correctly on all drives, not just on C: drive.

  * For the Isolated with Trumpet installation on Windows 3.1, the correct
version of the Trumpet winsock DLL is now installed. In version 3.01 of
NetDAQ Logger, the demo version of the winsock DLL was installed which
limited the number of sockets open at once to three.

  * A problem was fixed where if a network connection was continually broken
and reestablished during logging, it was possible for a GPF to occur in
NetDAQ Logger. This problem only occurred in Windows NT.

  * A bug was fixed where the mouse pointer over the plot window sometimes
appeared with the sizing bar cursor shape (double-arrow).

  * A bug was fixed where the ASCII to Text timestamp conversion utility
occasionally produced erroneous timestamps in the text file. This bug
    was introduced in version 3.0.

  * A bug was fixed where the 32-bit version did not handle the transition into
Daylight time correctly for timezones which enter Daylight time at times
other than 2am, such as Eastern Europe and Athens.

Important Note:

There is a problem in Windows NT 4.0 that causes NetDAQ Logger to
occasionally hang when exited such that NetDAQ Logger cannot be restarted
again without rebooting. Microsoft has fixed this problem with Windows NT
4.0 Service Pack 3 which may be downloaded for free from the Microsoft
website. As of June 1997, the service pack may be downloaded as follows:

1) In your web browser, go to www.microsoft.com.

2) Under Action Items, select "Download Free Software."

3) Under Locate By Category, select "Support Drivers, Patches & Service Packs."

4) Under Support Drivers, Patches and Service Packs, select "Windows NT
   Service Packs."

5) To download the service pack, select "Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 3 for
   Intel (x86)."

6) For instructions on how to install the service pack, select "Windows NT
   4.0 Service Pack 3 Readme.txt File."
